The School Day

Based on the outskirts of Walsall Town Centre, our welcoming school site is rich in heritage. It comprises of four happy classrooms, a breakout space, student kitchen, First Aid room and our administration base. Half of our students work on the school site: many work successfully at Designated Learning Venues or in their home where they can focus on achieving their goals without distraction. Often, students will work on a 1:1 basis with their tutor for mental health and anxiety reasons. We provide socialisation and enrichment opportunities for all.

When our students arrive at their learning venue, they will be welcomed by their tutors and conduct SODAs (Start Of the Day activities), which are designed to relax students and get them communicating together.

The day is split into 40-minute lessons with three regular breaks.  Lunch is a forty-minute break including reading for pleasure time.

See below a typical example of a student’s timetable.
